1-Book earlier (especially if you plan to visit that place during peak season). In Kelantan for example, the peak season is during the school holidays, especially on March, June, at the end of August and November..December normally not the best time to visit Kelantan due to bad weather. So, two to three months earlier reservation is the best time to make hotel reservation. I normally will give them discount. A bonus for earlier reservation

2-Ask for discount. Some hotels have discount for government civil servant, department trip, school trip or senior citizen. Normally the hotel have a discount for their guest. But if you do not request, they will not give.

3-Salesman rate – I have a few guest that asked for salesman rate for them. I don’t know about this until oneday, a guest asked. Salesman rate is far lower than normal rate. You also can asked for that rate.

4-Subscribe for hotels newsletter. There are so many travel website all around the world. If you are regularly travel, just subscribe for their newsletter especially website that offer hotels reservation. They will sent to your mailbox the latest hotels deal which offer discount for their members.

5-Contact local travel agency and ask them to make reservation on behalf of you - normally they can get lower rate
