I want to share with you (job seekers) a good tip given by Mr Ameron from Airgate Media Network during our meeting about University Pathfinder Investment Camp (UPIC) on last November at UiTM Kota Bharu City Campus. It is about how to market yourself through video resume. I mean promote yourself using an online video resume together with physical resume.

Video resume also called as “visumes” is a tool to promote yourself for potential employers. It is not the same as paper resume or physical resume. It is about how you promote yourself for the potential employers to look at your real resume.

Just wear your formal cloth then take a video. It can be a video about yourself, your skills, and your experience. Make sure each video is less than 5 minutes. If you have so many things to tell your employer to be, then create a few video separated by topic. The most important is, don’t forget to tell your future employer,

“How you can contribute to their company?”

Then upload the video online (such as on YouTube). Place the url address in your physical resume, attached together your mini transcript, certificates and etc. Or maybe you can burn the video in the CD and send it together with the real resume. By the way, I think have an online resume will be another value added.
