From my understanding, when we reduce our expenses means that we do not have a lot of money. It is a normal action we took if we have financial difficulties.
But Idris Jala said,
the savings would be channelled towards the Government Transformation Programme (PEMANDU) including improving the urban transportation network, rural basic infrastructure and roads, education and efforts to combat crime. The increase is very minimal and it should not hurt the people.
Hesh, why can’t they allocate another money for PEMANDU?
And sure the increment for those four item are very minimal.. but what I understand is, whenever those price increase, almost all other consumer products and services will increase as well. I believe, if you go to kopitiam or restaurant.. the price is already increased. And soon, the price of bus ticket will also increase.
I do hope, the government will not increase civil servant salary. If there is increase in civil servant salary, then the probability of another increase in consumer products price will happen. Better to give bonus. Bonus, doesn’t effect the consumer products price.
PS: At this moment, our homestay rate is still unchanged, and I am not thinking to increase the rate. 🙂
